Teeth Update, Bathroom Issues, & Mother's Day | ItsJustKelli

So I mention co-parenting for maybe the second time ever on my channel. It’s no secret that co-parenting is hard and if you know me in real life, you know that it’s never been easy for me since I was 17. I don’t like talking about that part of my life because I hate drama, and why waste energy on something and someone who I can’t change? With that being said, I’m human, and sometimes I want to vent and share some of the struggles of co-parenting. While I do and always have had full custody, when it’s not my time, I can’t demand my child to be with me. While I would have loved to have been able to have my kids all together for the weekend, regardless of the mess in the house and lack of celebration, getting our bathroom done FOR THE KIDS was more important. While yes I was allowed to have my daughter from 10 a.m to 7 p.m on Mother’s Day, with one family car that had a trailer hitched to it and was being used for the remodel and everything else going on, it didn’t make sense to spend 2 hours out of the day just doing transportation to and from my daughter’s father’s house. It is always the other parent’s right to say no to exceptions on their weekends, so for me, since I wasn’t allowed to keep her for the weekend, I had to make sacrifices to not give my energy to a toxic person, and to keep my own sanity. So for those of you who are going to throw shade for not getting my daughter on Mother’s Day, mind your business. I have been a parent since I was a teen, I have raised an amazing teenage daughter, and I Facetimed her to make sure she knew how much I loved her on the day. Mother’s Day is just a day, I feel loved every day from my family and that’s what’s most important! If you’re going through similar situations as a co-parent, remember that holidays and special occasions are what you make them! Not what the government deems special. Don’t let someone take your time and energy over silly things and just make the time you have amazing! Don’t play their games because you will never win, and remember that you are an amazing parent.

  2. i just found u recently and u mentioned columbus…i'm only about an hour and 45 mins from columbus. I live in St. Clairsville, OH its on the eastern side of the state. I've never found anyone on youtube so close to me before. i'm enjoying your channel so far and looking forward to having time to go back and watch some old videos

  3. hmmm….I see a pattern here. Maybe get some work gloves. So not what I pictured when I saw "bathroom issues" in the title. We just remodeled the kitchen last year and OMG I totally get what you are going through. I would love to do the bathroom but we only have one so -YIKES!!! Coparenting is tough. It gets better as they get older though. Hang in there.

  4. Kelli! I'm a manager for home depot (obviously not your store but still) and I love to hear that you guys buy most of your stuff from home depot and that you had a positive experience with your exchange :):)

  5. Your real-ness stands above most everyone on YouTube keep being you! So glad I found your channel and even got to meet you and John! Love your family and I know it’s got to be hard at times to ignore the negative comments on the Internet but can I just say this is one thing this future generation doesn’t know how to do!! It blows my mind and they don’t know life without it so we as parents have to model the behavior and you my friend are a great inspiration to realities in this generation!!! I ❤️ you guys and wish your family the best!

  6. Parenting and coparenting is hard. Hope you enjoyed your Mother’s Day nonetheless and put your energy into your friends and love ones that deserve it.

  7. Love you guys so much!! I can't wait to see how the bathroom turns out,I'm sitting here watching your video eating a peppermint candy cane in hopes that it will help with the horrible allergy flare up the gas been in my sinuses the past 3 days. Totally sucked but I am on the mend.

  8. Your teeth look amazing!! I need to get on mine!
Also yes! Some parents lose all common sense when it comes to school pick up.

  9. What a petty asshole your ex is. All it shows Ava and everyone is how vindictive he is. I’m sure your positive attitude pissed him off as he obviously wanted to hurt you.

  10. I always drive and park a street over. And walk the kids to school. I hate the line and the ridiculous parents that park the car (Ken you know who you are!!) Congrats on the bathroom.

  11. Be careful putting stuff on top of your stove, my grandma's stove shorted out during the night (lucky no one in the house at the time ) and the house burnt down, ps love your videos

  12. I co- parent too, it’s hard it will always be hard it has always been hard and that’s never gonna change!! I know just how u feel. On a positive note I will get Mother’s Day soon and it will be wonderful. Oh and I love ur Starbucks cup I totally bought the same one 2 weeks ago and use it at work everyday. Haha

  13. Just my thoughts but with what is going on today in this world everyday your children are alive not kidnapped not involved in a traumatic school shooting or dealing with a child taking their life from bullying or any other horrific thing is Mother’s Day. It’s a holiday to make money and our children are dying oh I forgot police brutality I’m sorry to be such a Scrooge about this holiday but when you look at the world children In cages despite your messed up morally wrong opinion on that OUR CHILDREN ALL CHILDREN ARE IN HARMS WAY.. Love your vlogs Kelli and those sweet children of yours ❤️

  14. You can get a bunch of work gloves pretty cheap at the hardware store, with all the DIY you have going on you might want to invest in a bulk pack lol

  15. Kelli – your teeth look amazing!! I am excited for you guys with the new bathroom! I know remodeling can be frustrating and stressful but when it's all done, you'll be so happy and glad that you did it!

  16. Yess permanent retainers are awesome! I got mine when I was 16 after braces and I'm 25 now and never had one issue with it

  17. Your husband and his brother are seriously amazing that they can fit bathrooms and kitchens! It blows my mind… I need a man like that lol

  18. Woah! You've got a lot going on right now! Even though it's not an ideal time for you, I'm super jealous of your bathroom remodel. I hate my bathroom floor with a fiery, burning passion and theres no plan for the next 5 yrs or more to do anything about it, so I'll have to live vicariously through you! LOL

  19. If I live near you I legitimately drop off a good glass of wine for you and John for a relaxing night! Gosh you are strong so much you have happening at once.
