  1. Hot Club of the Mountains

My Dell XPS that I bought in March, 2019 is still sitting unused in my basement. Failed SD card. Failed mainboard. Failed fingerprint reader. Do not buy.

  2. May I ask for your recommendation for a 2 in 1 convertible laptop for scientific modelling , simulation building and note taking? A good performing laptop would be appreciated on grounds of future-proofing.

  3. How would this handle simulation and CAD usage for an engineering student? Apparently laptops are generally good enough to get by, I know SolidWorks is better on a massive workstation!

  4. Dell XPS 15-Laptop trash. An engineering lemon riddled with hardware issues that cannot be fixed. I bought an XPS 15 in March and to this day have not been able to use it for work. Issue one, failed SD Card reader. 20 hours of my time diagnosing with Inept repair teams, they issued and RMA. Shipped it to Dell RMA center. A month later, I get it back. They replaced the memory board a long with all updates and bios. My XPS was sent back with a fail d fingerprint reader and a cooling fan that runs on high constantly. Another twenty hours of my time spent working with overseas technicians who clearly do not speak the US version of English. Now they want to send a technician out to waste more of my time.

Never again Dell products of any kind. Not For business. Not For business recommendations.

I am waiting for Tuesday when their business center opens up and I can demand a full refund. To be fair, I should charge Dell $175/hr for my time spent baby sitting on the phone training their techs.

Dell is the poster child of a mature US company with terrible engineering and fails outsourcing support.

  5. I like your reviews but gosh take a breath. That time people wanted fast youtube speakers is gone, take a look at marques houston, a guy we can understand.

  6. I put an order for this laptop with the i7, 16gb RAM and 512GB SSD with 4k oled screen for college. I'm feeling optimistic for this to serve me well since I'm not gonna do much gaming on it and mostly college stuff and casual streaming. I have my gaming PC for the heavy gaming and stuff. Thank you always for you excellent work Lisa.

  7. Hi, could you if possible can review Dell New Inspiron 13 5390 Laptop, (8th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-8565U Processor (8MB Cache, up to 4.6 GHz) and Lenovo IDEAPAD S540 (14, INTEL), I7 model ?

  8. I've had it with my 2018 MacBook Pro's keyboard and am prepping to sell it and get a new laptop. Right now I'm tearing my hair out between Lenovo and Dell, focusing on keyboard for obvious reasons, and your reviews are absolutely positively invaluable. Thank you!
